Completed PM of Turnkey Drilling, Basra Region of Iraq
Drilled 23 Wells successfully with the average depth of 3500m in Rumalia field for BP Company. Last 3 wells were drilled in 19, 17 and 16 days which were Rumaila Field drilling records (Other major drilling companies had average of 50 drilling days for the same well configuration)
Completed Project Management, Chia Surkh Oilfield of Iraq
Created production team to run field operations
In the heart of Azerbaijan’s energy sector, OGS FZE was entrusted with a monumental challenge: to revitalize 198 high-pressure gas wells across the Galmaz and Garadagh fields, while also drilling 2 new high-pressure gas wells, all within an ambitious timeline of just nine months. This project wasn’t merely about completing wells—it was about redefining standards of efficiency, safety, and innovation in the oil and gas industry.
The project began with meticulous planning and preparation. The team deployed 14 workover rigs, 2 drilling rigs and 4 coiled tubing units, bringing together a blend of cutting-edge technology and unparalleled expertise. From the outset, the scope was clear: to increase gas injection capacity, minimize gas losses, and ensure the wells could safely and efficiently meet the demands of the region’s energy needs.
However, the road was not without obstacles. The team faced challenges in cleaning wellbores, assessing cement integrity, and stimulating gas zones, all while adhering to stringent safety protocols. Yet, these hurdles only fueled the determination of the OGS FZE team. Using advanced 3D geological modeling and reservoir simulation techniques, they developed innovative solutions, including rig-free methods for future well repairs.
One of the most remarkable achievements was the expansion of gas storage capacity from 2.98 billion m³ to 4.26 billion m³, a feat that underscored the team’s ability to deliver results that exceeded expectations. Alongside the completion of the 198 wells, the successful drilling of 2 new high-pressure gas wells highlighted OGS FZE’s technical expertise and ability to manage complex operations with precision.
Safety remained at the forefront of every decision. With robust systems in place, including double-protection wellhead integrity, the team ensured that every step of the process adhered to the highest industry standards. Despite the complexity and scale of the project, it was completed on time and without incident—a testament to the team’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
This project was more than a technical accomplishment; it was a story of resilience, innovation, and teamwork. It demonstrated OGS FZE’s ability to navigate challenges, adapt to evolving circumstances, and deliver outstanding results that solidify its position as a leader in the oil and gas sector.
Today, the success of this project stands as a shining example of what can be achieved with vision, expertise, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. It is a story that continues to inspire confidence in OGS FZE’s ability to tackle the most complex energy challenges of our time.
